Tá Meitheal Pleanála Teanga an Iarthuaiscirt ag obair ar an phleanáil teanga i Limistéar Pleanála Teanga Ghaoth Dobhair, Anagaire, Rann na Feirste agus Loch an Iúir, faoi láthair. Faoi Acht na Gaeltachta, 2012, caithfidh achan cheantar Gaeltachta plean teanga a ullmhú a mbeidh sé de sprioc aige an Ghaeilge a chaomhnú agus a neartú.
I mí Mheán Fómhair 2014, ceapadh Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair mar Cheanneagraíocht. Mar sin, is iadsan atá freagrach as próiseas na pleanála teanga a stiúradh sa cheantar nó sa ‘limistéar’ seo. Ansin, bunaíodh Meitheal Pleanála Teanga an Iarthuaiscirt (MPTIT), coiste deonach le hionadaithe ó na ceantair agus ó na pobail éagsúla sa limistéar, le dul i mbun oibre ar an bplean teanga.
Cé hé/hí d’ionadaí áitiúil? Tá liosta de bhaill MPTIT anseo!
Beidh an plean críochnaithe roimh dheireadh 2016, agus beidh seacht mbliana againn ansin le gníomhaíochtaí éagsúla an phlean a chur i bhfeidhm.

Meitheal Pleanála an Iarthuaiscirt are currently undertaking language planning work in the Language Planning Area of Gaoth Dobhair, Anagaire, Rann na Feirste and Loch an Iúir. Under the Gaeltacht Act 2012, every Gaeltacht area has to prepare a language plan, the aim of which will be to preserve and strengthen Irish.
In September 2014, Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair was appointed the Ceanneagraíocht, or ‘Lead Organisation’. This means that they are responsible for directing the language planning process in this area. Meitheal Pleanála Teanga an Iarthuaiscirt (MPTIT), a voluntary committee with representatives from the various areas and communities within this area, was then founded to get to work on the language plan.
Who is your local representative? Here is a list of MPTIT members!
The plan will be ready by the end of 2016, and we will then have seven years to implement the various actions outlined in our plan.
